Interview with John Campanella

Link to my interview with the legendary John Campanella above.

I am excited to finally be able to share my lovely talk with the brilliant and wise local construction community legend, John Campanella.

In this conversation we dissect: Local building policies and processes, projects and local designs that we love, and some that make us scratch our heads, the frustrations and joys of building in SB, the building culture that exists in SB, and a bit of his personal story as well.

I have known the Campanella family since my time at Starr King Parent Child Workshop back in the 1980's.  The Campanella's do a lot of things extremely well.  Like throwing parties, teaching, smiling, keeping an inviting home, and of course, music and construction.  They are also exceptional at being present, and showing up for community with a dedication that most don't seem to possess now a days.  John Campanella has been an active voice in local construction and development since the 1980s.  I hope you have time to listen to our conversation and browse these lovely pictures of him and his family.  Also if you haven't already voted in the SB Indy Best Of, don't forget we've had the honor of being nominated for Best Contractor a second year in a row.  If you haven't voted, make sure to scroll way way down to read instructions and knock this voting out.  We would greatly appreciate it!

Vote for us!

We have been nominated for the second year in a row for best contractor in The Independent's "Best Of" edition!  They received over 50,000 nominations this year and we are thrilled the community chose us to stand as one of the five contractors who received enough votes to get onto the ballot.  It's an honor to be included in this long standing local tradition.
How to vote

The voting period begins today August 3rd and runs until August 30th.  You will need to login (I know I know) andvote in at least 20 categories for your vote to count.  This is a little annoying, but you guys it's actually fun!  And it would mean so much to us.

Let it load, it takes a minute.  To get to the voting categories scroll down beyond all the text and even below the "start" button.  Scroll down to click the "Housing" category and then click "Contractor" then click "Kellow Construction" for best Contractor.

Make sure it displays a green check box (✅) next to "Kellow Construction" after you vote, this way you know it worked and you can go on to other categories you want to vote in to hit your 20 votes.

I had fun voting myself.  I will share that I did stay true and voted for Rusty's for best pizza.  It just didn't feel right to put anyone else.  Most of my generation who grew up here understands that our hearts will always be taken by Rusty's, no matter how many other pizzas come and go from this town.

Anyways thank you for the support please know how grateful we are.
